0.96" OLED: Crisp graphics on I²C

01SSD1306 essentials

The common 0.96" module uses the SSD1306 controller over I²C at address 0x3C. True OLED pixels mean perfect blacks and tiny power draw.

02Library setup

  • Install Adafruit_SSD1306 + Adafruit_GFX.
  • Begin with display.begin(SSD1306_SWITCHCAPVCC, 0x3C).
  • Use display.display() after every draw.

03Drawing tips

Use the built-in 6×8 font for body text and big 2×/3× scale for headlines. Bitmaps are 1-bit; convert images with image2cpp.

04Power & burn-in

OLEDs draw 5–25 mA depending on lit pixels. Animate or invert the screen periodically to avoid long-term burn-in on static UIs.
