NEO-6M GPS: Where am I?

01Hardware

The NEO-6M module ships with a ceramic patch antenna and battery-backed RTC for fast warm starts. 5 m accuracy, 1 Hz update by default.

02Wiring

• VCC → 3.3 or 5V.
• GND → GND.
• TX → MCU RX, RX → MCU TX.
• First fix outdoors takes 30–120 seconds.

03Parsing NMEA

The module streams NMEA sentences ($GPGGA, $GPRMC). The TinyGPS++ library decodes them so you just read gps.location.lat().

04Project ideas

• Time sync (GPS gives accurate UTC).
